We're Planning a Mural
We want to transform the wall on the eastern side of the building with a Remembrance tribute.
Working with local businesses, B Line Design and S.L Creations, members of the Executive gave their feedback on draft designs. The preferred design is being updated for a second review and we'll bring you more news as the project progresses.

2025 marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War and the Holocaust.
The Holocaust shows what happens when hatred, dehumanization and apathy win.
Its remembrance is a bulwark against the denigration of humanity, and a clarion call for collective action to ensure respect for dignity and human rights, and the international law that protects both.
Holocaust remembrance safeguards the memories of survivors and their testament of life before the Holocaust – of vibrant communities, of traditions, of hopes and dreams, of loved ones who did not survive.

Remembering a Veteran
Remembering a Veteran from World War I
Legion Member Cheryl Moore's grandfather served in World War I as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces. William James Taylor was wounded on June 1, 1916, invalided out and returned to Canada in May 1919. He died in 1942 and is buried at the Mt Royal Cemetery in Montreal, QC.
Cheryl made the trip to Belgium to experience the battlefields, the cemeteries, memorials and museums in remembrance of her grandfather and wanted to share some of her reminders of an emotional visit.

Remembrance Day at Maple Ridge Legion
Approximately 11.30am (Parade dismissal) to 8pm
The City of Maple Ridge provides full details of the Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony. (Note - There's also a Parade in Pitt Meadows)
Our Legion members will be participating as Veterans and with a Colour Party.
After the Parade is dismissed, our Legion opens it doors (just after 11.30am) to those who have participated in the ceremony. Veterans, Veterans who could not march and the Colour Parties all receive a lunch. Once Veterans and the Colour Parties have settled, the remainder of people may join us.
We also have a range of activities over the rest of the day including:
- Live music from Sweet Max
- Performances from the Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band and highland dancing by Dunvegan Dance Academy.
- Cheque presentations to local charities
