Today we remember – D Day Juno Beach
Canadians took part in many hard struggles to help the Allies to victory during the Second World War.
D-Day and the Battle of Normandy was one of the best-known chapters of the entire conflict and our service members would play an important role in this pivotal campaign.
World Elder Abuse Day
The Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Katzie, Community Response Network is hosting a World Elder Abuse Awareness Breakfast at our Legion on June 14th from 08:30 to 09:30 am.
Today we remember – Flt Lt Keith Lefroy
We recently received a message from Sharon Lefroy. Sharon is the niece of Flt Lt Keith Lefroy who was killed in action in November 1943 over the Netherlands.
Although from Ingersoll ON, Sharon is keen to share the story of her Uncle and try to reach any surviving relatives. We’re proud to be able to help Sharon with their quest.
Flt Lt Keith Lefroy
On 18 Sept 1941, Keith Lefroy was posted overseas and reported to the #3 Personnel Reception Centre (PRC) at Bournemouth, UK on 24 Oct 1941.
Pride month 2025
Members of Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ community have made important military contributions. They have seen pride and achievement and discrimination and persecution.
For most of Canada’s history, the military officially barred members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community from serving in uniform. This legacy of discrimination meant most of their stories were deeply buried. More recently, research has brought many inspiring and heartbreaking stories to light.
Cadet Annual Reviews
We're proud to support our local Cadet groups and recently the Air, Sea and Army Cadets held their Annual Reviews.
RCACS 583 Coronation Squadron, RCSCC Invincible and 1838 RCACC Royal Westminster Regiment take a bow and be proud of your achievements over the past 12 months.
June Lounge Calendar
June is right around the corner and we have a packed Legion Lounge schedule to share with our members.
Here’s what you can expect……
° Music & Dancing with live entertainment
° Cards & Darts

Today we celebrate – the Canadian Army
“The history of the Army in Canada is as long as the history of the country itself, and forms a larger part of it than many Canadians realize. The Canadian soldier of today is the heir of a very old and a very proud tradition, and a tradition peculiarly his own.
VE Day – 80 years
8 May 1945 – VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) – was one that remained in the memory of all those who witnessed it. It meant an end to nearly six years of a war that had cost the lives of millions; had destroyed homes, families, and cities; and had brought huge suffering and privations to the populations of entire countries.
